Indianapolis, IN - July 26, 2010

Mycogen Seeds announces the addition of 12 new soybean lines to its portfolio for 2011 planting. The new products deliver the opportunity for excellent return on investment through top genetics, advanced technology and high yield potential.

“The new soybean lines from Mycogen Seeds offer the most advanced technology designed to perform and meet growers’ specific needs,” says John Kalthoff, oil seeds marketing specialist, Mycogen Seeds. “MYCOGEN brand soybeans are the trusted choice for growers looking to build profitable whole-farm programs.”

New Mycogen Seeds soybean lines

Seven of the new Mycogen Seeds soybean lines feature Genuity™ Roundup Ready 2 Yield® technology.

5N110R2 is an attractive Mid-Group 1 plant with soybean cyst nematode (SCN) resistance. It offers high yield and adapts to all row widths and planting densities. The line also provides Rps1c and field tolerance for protection against Phytophthora, along with good stress tolerance.

A visually attractive high-yielding line, 5N154R2 features SCN resistance and Rps1k protection against Phytophthora. Another Mid-Group 1 soybean, it is broadly adapted and moves south well.

5N160R2 has a full package with strong yield potential, SCN resistance and protection against Phytophthora with Rps1k. It has excellent emergence, standability and plant type to provide flexibility for all planting practices. The product is visually attractive and delivers on yield.

5N180R2 combines yield potential with great agronomics plus SCN resistance in a Roundup Ready 2 Yield variety. It features very good tolerance to white mold and iron deficiency chlorosis. Good emergence and excellent standability from 5N180R2 provide good performance in all planting practices.

Featuring an outstanding defensive package to handle a wide range of pressures, 5N210R2 provides very good tolerance to white mold, iron deficiency chlorosis and brown stem rot. It has excellent emergence and great standability for good performance in all rows.

5N240R2 performs well east to west. This high-yielding variety offers SCN protection plus Phytophthora protection with Rps1c and good brown stem rot tolerance. It features good emergence and stress tolerance to handle a wide range of conditions, and its standability and branching growth habit work well in all row widths.

Adapted to the entire Midwest, 5N284R2 is a taller plant type with high yield potential. It provides SCN resistance along with Rps1c for Phytophthora protection. The line offers excellent performance across a wide range of planting and environmental conditions.

The 2011 Mycogen Seeds portfolio includes three new Roundup Ready® soybean lines.

5B010RR is an Early Group 0 soybean, which features a strong defensive package with excellent tolerance to white mold and brown stem rot. It offers very good emergence and standability, and is a great choice for both wide and narrow rows.

A branch plant type with good standability, 5B064RR works well in all row widths and locations. In addition to strong tolerance to iron deficiency chlorosis and white mold, it also provides Rps1c and good field tolerance to Phytophthora. This line is a great companion product for 5B063RR.

5N430RR is a tall Mid-Group 4 variety that produces high yield and contains SCN resistance with good tolerance to frogeye leaf spot. It is well adapted to all row widths, planting densities and soil types from Kansas to southern Indiana and into the Midsouth. It makes a great choice for both full-season and double-crop plantings.

Mycogen Seeds offers two new conventional soybean lines.

5N325 is a conventional soybean line that combines good agronomics with a strong defensive package. It is a taller branchy plant type with very good standability with the ability to handle a wide range of conditions. It works well in all row widths.

A rugged conventional variety, 5N416 works well in many conditions. It is broadly adapted for conditions across the entire Mid-Group 4 area and provides SCN protection with very good tolerance to sudden death syndrome. It works well in all row widths and soil types.
