Jim Henry Named Mycogen Seeds Silage Specialist
INDIANAPOLIS — Jan. 13, 2011 — Jim Henry has been named silage specialist for Mycogen Seeds, after working previously as a Mycogen Seeds sales representative in northeastern Nebraska.
As part of his new responsibilities, Henry will work directly with dairy producers and silage growers along the Interstate 29 corridor stretching from western Minnesota, eastern South Dakota and northwestern Iowa south to eastern Kansas. Focusing on MYCOGEN® brand SILAGE-SPECIFIC™ corn hybrids, he will collaborate with local Mycogen Seeds sales representatives to ensure growers achieve the most out of their corn silage production programs. His role includes helping producers select, grow and feed highly digestible MYCOGEN BMR corn hybrids to maximize milk production.
Henry joined Mycogen Seeds in 2008. He grew up on a farm in Cresco, Iowa, and has 15 years of experience with dairy nutrition and animal health companies in the Midwest and California. He is a graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. Henry resides in Dakota Dunes, S.D.
“We’re extremely pleased Jim has taken on this new role as silage specialist. He has demonstrated a superior understanding of the dairy industry and already has helped growers maximize their silage efforts,” says Greg Cannon, Mycogen Seeds silage marketing specialist. “With his nutrition and animal health expertise, he is a tremendous resource to Mycogen Seeds customers.”
Cannon notes that Henry’s proven track record with successful milk production helps fill a need for the area. “He brings an expert voice to the region and will help growers achieve their silage goals while becoming more profitable and efficient,” Cannon says.
“I am looking forward to representing Mycogen Seeds to growers and helping them successfully extract the value of the most advanced silage hybrids the industry has to offer and, ultimately, improve their bottom lines,” Henry says.
