Mycogen Seeds Hybrids Earn Top Prizes Again at World Forage Analysis Superbowl
INDIANAPOLIS — Oct. 5, 2011 — MYCOGEN® brand SILAGE-SPECIFIC™ corn hybrids produced two Grand Champion entries at the World Forage Analysis Superbowl. Winners were announced at World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wis. The awards highlighted a highly successful overall showing for Mycogen Seeds.
“We are very excited about the outstanding showing by our customers at the 2011 World Forage Analysis Superbowl,” says Greg Cannon, forage marketing specialist, Mycogen Seeds. “There were a record number of entries this year and these results again show that MYCOGEN hybrids continue to produce top-quality silage.”
Merrell Dairy LLC of Wolcott, N.Y., was named the Grand Champion in the BMR Corn Silage category with corn silage made from MYCOGEN BMR hybrid
F2F488. In the non-BMR category, Kim Leudeman of Hersey, Mich., took home the Grand Champion prize with MYCOGEN hybrid
TMF2N494 entry.
Other BMR winners
MYCOGEN® brand hybrids swept the competition in the BMR Dairy Corn Silage rankings, taking all nine placings. In addition to the Grand Champion in this category, other BMR hybrid winners included True Farms Inc., Perry, N.Y.; Four Mile Creek Dairy LLC, Rice Lake, Wis.; Jason Stoltzfus Farm, Waterville, N.Y.; Trierweiler Dairy Inc., Portland, Mich.; Putt Dairy Farm, Sugarcreek, Ohio; Morrisville State College, Morrisville, N.Y.; Co-Vale Holsteins, Preble, N.Y.; Jason Gawne, Reed City, Mich.; ColdRun Dairy, Salem, Ohio.
