Mycogen Seeds Offers NEXERA® Canola Hybrids for 2013
INDIANAPOLIS — July 25, 2012 — Mycogen Seeds is excited to offer three NEXERA® canola hybrids for the 2013 growing season.
“MYCOGEN brand canola hybrids offer industry-leading canola yields and increased profit potential for growers, as well as excellent weed control options,” says John Kalthoff, Mycogen Seeds portfolio marketing leader for oilseeds. “By growing our NEXERA canola hybrids, producers experience superior disease resistance, standability and early and late-season vigor.”
NEXERA canola hybrids
New to the lineup,
1016 RR is a medium-tall hybrid that offers very good standability. Adapted to the northern canola-growing areas of the United States,
1016 RR features superior early season vigor. This hybrid also features fusarium wilt and blackleg resistance.
1012 RR provides an advanced weed control option available in canola with tolerance to glyphosate herbicides, such as DURANGO
® DMA
® herbicide. The 98-day hybrid offers exceptional early season vigor and standability. Hybrid
1012 RR is resistant to blackleg and fusarium wilt.
2012 CL is a medium-tall hybrid featuring
CLEARFIELD® herbicide technology that boasts excellent early season vigor and standability. Well-adapted to northern growing areas,
2012 CL is resistant to fusarium wilt and moderately resistant to blackleg.
Increasing demand for healthier oils
The Mycogen Seeds NEXERA canola portfolio offers growers higher profit potential through
high-value contracts from processors.
“With an expanding Omega-9 Oil market, contracts for NEXERA canola offer some advantages compared with commodity canola,” Kalthoff says. “Plus, the demand for heart-healthy Omega-9 oils is at an all-time high, which means profitable contract options and flexibility for growers.”
