For many years, Dow AgroSciences has conducted research and development looking for oil that is trans fat free, which has low saturated fat content and will meet consumers increasing demand for healthful and convenient foods.  Natreon* canola oil is produced from Nexera* canola seed grown under identity preserved contract programs. Natreon canola oil can replace partially hydrogenated oils in the food service and snack food industries and is ideal for high-heat uses such as frying and non-stick spray applications due to its natural high oxidative stability and functional characteristics. It delivers extended shelf life and outperforms partially hydrogenated soybean and regular canola in fry test parameters.  Growing Nexera canola allows western Canadian growers an opportunity to market a product, instead of a commodity, directly to a guaranteed end-use customer.

Grow More Grass - Graze More Cows. Dow AgroSciences has developed Restore*, Grazon* and Remedy*, solutions specifically designed for cattlemen in western Canada. Restore is designed to be easier on the environment, controlling noxious and invasive weeds in rangeland and permanent grass pastures. Grazon improves grass production through the removal of a wide range of broadleaf weeds.  Remedy is the most economical solution to reclaim your pasture from brush encroachment and improve grass productivity. Part of an integrated brush control plan that provides safe to grass, down to the root, brush control for cattlemen.

Pest control in the horticultural arena is complex business. The introduction of Entrust 80W Naturalyte insect control product is a very positive step ahead for Integrated Pest (IPM) and Insecticide Resistance Management (IRM) programs. Entrust 80W is derived from the fermentation of Saccharpolyspora spinosa. It is applied when scouting indicates that target pest densities have reached the economic threshold. These insect pests include Colorado potato beetle larvae and European corn borer larvae in potato crops, sod webworm in turf and oblique banded leafroller larvae in apples. Adherence to local integrated pest management strategies helps to prolong the usefulness of all insect control products.
