Personal Choice DaysPersonal Choice days offer eligible employees a way to take time off for birthdays, religious holidays or extra vacation time without using vacation days. During each year that you work for The Dow Chemical Company ("Dow"), you may take a maximum of two Personal Choice days that:
New Hire Vacation ScheduleThe New Hire Vacation Schedule applies to eligible new hires that accept a regular full-time salaried position with Dow. The vacation is based on an 8-hour workday. Vacation for less-than-full-time employees will be prorated based on hours worked.

Regular Vacation ScheduleFor eligible employees, the regular vacation schedule goes into effect after their first full calendar year (January 1st through December 31st) of Dow employment. The vacation is based on an 8-hour workday. Vacation days are granted on January 1st of each year for that year.
FlextimeA standard 9-5 workday isn't the ideal arrangement for all employees. Therefore we have options, such as flextime, which allows people to come in earlier or later than the standard 7:30 a.m. start time and adjust the rest of their day accordingly. Less-Than-Full-TimeWe also have less-than-full-time employment, with management approval, for employees who have been employed at least one year. Family and Personal Leaves of AbsenceDow AgroSciences realizes that sometimes employees may need an extended period away from work to deal with personal issues or support family, to participate in political or military activities, to invest in additional education or just to take a sabbatical. We help satisfy this need with our family and personal leave policies. Again, management approval is required. Leaves can range in duration from less than 90 days up to more than two years, in some cases. Child Daycare FacilityDow AgroSciences global headquarters site offers preferred access to two first class daycare facilities located a short two minute drive off the main campus. This makes having lunch with your son or daughter and keeping them more integrated into your life an option. Lactation Support StationsDow AgroSciences tries to make the return to work after a pregnancy as easy a transition as possible by making private lactation stations available in our Occupational Health Department for our breastfeeding mothers. Adoption AssistanceAdoption of a child is a special time for any family. Dow AgroSciences will reimburse you for expenses such as eligible legal and medical costs that are related to the adoption of a child, up to a maximum of $3,000 per child. Dow also offers Adoptive Leave with full continuation of salary and benefits. This provides up to four weeks paid Adoptive Leave for an employee where there is no other parent available in the home. Dependent Care Reimbursement AccountsDependent care, whether it is for a child or an adult incapable of self-care, is an expense many employees face today. Our program allows you to contribute from $100 to $5,000 a year to pay for these expenses with pre-tax dollars. Employee Assistance ProgramOur Employee Assistance Program provides confidential counseling services through an outside vendor to employees and their families to assist in dealing with any personal issues or problems. There are a variety of services available as part of this package including Traditional Short-Term Counseling, Long Term Counseling Referral, Child and Elder Care Resources, Legal Counseling/Referral Services and Financial Counseling Services. Child and Elder Care ReferralsChild and elder care referrals are available through our Employee Assistance Program. Fun and FitnessTaking time for yourself is essential for a balanced life. You'll have lots of these opportunities at our global headquarters site in Indianapolis. We have volleyball and basketball courts…we have hiking trails and picnic tables. And we have a stocked lake just waiting to be fished. You'll see many of our employees taking advantage of these activities during their lunch hours. Fitness CenterOur state-of-the-art Employee Development Center (EDC) has a fitness center offering not only basic exercise equipment, but also other fitness programs such as aerobics, kick boxing and yoga. Fitness classes are held at convenient times either over lunch or directly after work. The Fitness Center is staffed by personnel from the National Institute of Fitness and Sport who can you help design a fitness program to meet your individual needs. Or you can relax with a 15-minute massage available on Fridays. NutritionMeet with a nutrition consultant at the EDC to establish your weight goals or to discuss eating habits for you or your children. You can also learn more about cholesterol, anemia or diabetes and other nutrition topics. Credit Union and Discount Event TicketsAs an employee of Dow AgroSciences, you can join the Dow Employees Credit Union, which offers online banking, checking, savings, and low rate loans. In addition to having an ATM, the credit union in the EDC offers discount event tickets for movies, amusement parks, local entertainment events and many other things. Nature Trails/Forest PreserveA large part of the 325-acre site is set aside as a forest preserve, with nature trails and wildlife. A section of the land has been restored to the growth of natural prairie grass, which once flourished across the Midwestern United States.
