The problem with a successful rollout of a new product is that it can begin to take on a life of its own! In the case of Mycogens first introduction of corn hybrids developed exclusively for silage, dairy and beef producers were so impressed with their performance that the TMF name was quickly becoming associated only with Mycogen silage hybrids. And little wonder!

The Totally Managed Feedstuffs™ (TMF) program is more than high-yielding silage hybrids. It's a crop-planning process that seeks to match up the energy and protein requirements of a customers dairy herd or beef animals with the land available to produce these nutrients. And that might include sunflower as a fat source, warm-season grasses for energy and fiber, alfalfa as the primary protein component and even roasted of extruded soybeans in addition to corn silage. The introduction in 1995 of TMF Generation alfalfa with its high yield and exceptional disease resistance, marks the newest addition to the TMF product lineup.

Corn

TMF 94 Specifically developed as a high-yielding silage hybrid for maximizing TDN/acre. A top choice for silage across the northern Dairybelt.
TMF 99 An outstanding silage hybrid specifically bred for high TDN values. This tall hybrid features high digestibility of both grain and fodder. It produces an extra 4-6 leaves above the ear compared to conventional hybrids.
TMF 106 Outstanding silage yields with high TDN per acre. Tall plants produce large, girthy ears and have 10-11 wide leaves above the ear. Healthy plants retain nutrient qualilties through harvest.

Alfalfa

Evolution has high yield potential and is widely adapted across the northern third of the U.S.A. It has "broken the rules" by exhibiting both excellent winter hardiness and fast regrowth characteristics. Evolution has an excellent disease and insect resistance package. This includes resistance to leaf hopper yellowing - probably the biggest detriment to forage quality, especially in second and third cuttings.
TMF Multi-plier II, Mycogen's newest alfalfa variety, is an exceptionally high yielder. Its most unique characteristic is its ability to improve in yield year after year. In three consecutive years of testing, TMF Multi-plier II increased in yield each year and showed a considerable advantage over competitors. This multi-leaf variety also features a superior disease resistance package.
TMF Generation is a variety that has no weaknesses in its area of adaptation. It has the highest Phytophthora root rot resistance of any Mycogen alfalfa variety. TMF Generation is highly resistant to all five major alfalfa diseases and is an exceptional yielder. This very leafy, dark green cultivar is adapted to all areas of the United States and Canada where four cuttings are common and severe winters are likely.

Forage Sorghum

Milkmaker-T is a tall, late-maturing forage hybrid with a large seed-producing head. Provides high tonnage yields when grown using top management practices. Will grow to heights of 10 to 14 feet.
Goldmaker male sterile - allows the sugars to stay in the stalk for highest quality. Will set seed if pollinated by other sorghum.
Milk-A-Lot is a medium-early maturity forage with exceptional nutritional value. Medium-height plants produce large semi-compact heads full of grain. Excellent drought tolerance and standability. Produces leafy stalks that are five to six feet tall.
