As Executive Vice President of Mycogen and General Manager of Mycogen Crop Protection, Andy Barnes has management responsibility for development, manufacturing and marketing of Mycogen's biopesticide products and for its Soilserv crop protection services business.
Mycogen is a diversified biotechnology company that develops and markets environmentally compatible biopesticides and planting seeds for improved crop varieties to control pests and increase food and fiber production.
Barnes was one of Mycogen's co-founders. Before helping to form the company in 1982, he was president of Zymos Corporation, a genetic engineering company in Seattle, Washington. Previously, he had been a biotechnology licensing associate in Stanford University's Office of Technology Licensing and a project and process engineer with G.D. Searle & Co.
Barnes holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Purdue
University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of
Business.
