As Executive Vice President of Mycogen, Andy Barnes is responsible for overseeing business development and acquisition activities. As General Manager of Mycogen Crop Protection Andy is responsible for development, manufacturing and marketing of Mycogen's biopesticide products and for its Soilserv crop protection services business.
Barnes was one of Mycogen's co-founders. Before helping to form the company in 1982, he was president of Zymos Corporation, a genetic engineering company in Seattle, Washington. Previously, he had been a biotechnology licensing associate in Stanford University's Office of Technology Licensing and a project and process engineer with G.D. Searle & Co.
Barnes holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business..
