Mycogen Seeds announces the hiring of two new agronomists - April Borders, district agronomist for South Dakota, and Trenton Lindenman, product development agronomist.
As district agronomist, Borders supports sales representatives and dealers in South Dakota, focusing on sunflowers, corn and MYCOGEN® brand SILAGE-SPECIFICâ„¢ hybrids.
"April is a great fit for our Agronomy Services team," says Stephen Smith, Agronomy Services manager, Mycogen Seeds. "Her past experiences will no doubt be a major asset for growers as well as Mycogen Seeds dealers and sales representatives."
Prior to this new role, Borders was an Extension educator for six years with the South Dakota State University (SDSU) Cooperative Extension Service. She is a certified crop adviser and holds a bachelor's degree in horticulture - fruit and vegetable production from Washington State University. Borders is finishing her Master of Education degree at SDSU in curriculum and instruction specialization with an emphasis in agriculture.
As product development agronomist, Lindenman supports research, product development and Mycogen Seeds sales businesses.
"We're excited to add Trenton to our team," Smith says. "This demonstrates the commitment Dow AgroSciences and Mycogen Seeds are making in the areas of research and development."
Prior to this role, Lindenman worked for three years at Stoneville Pedigreed Seed Company in Memphis, Tenn., as a research assistant in its cotton trait introgression program. He previously was an agriculture science and business instructor at West Noble High School in Ligonier, Ind.
