Mycogen Seeds Expands Forage LineupMycogen Seeds announces the addition of eight new TMF™ Silage-Specific™ hybrids to its leading lineup of highly digestible corn silage hybrids. "As the industry leader in Silage-Specific hybrids, Mycogen Seeds is excited to bring this diverse collection of top-performing TMF hybrids to market," says Greg Cannon, Forage Marketing Specialist, Mycogen Seeds. "The new TMF hybrids feature high NDF digestibility ratings, which producers rely on to help maximize dry matter intake and milk production within their herds." The new TMF hybrids complement the existing TMF hybrid lineup by widening the range of relative maturity days and specialty traits available. The eight new TMF hybrids range from 88 days to 116 days in relative maturity. These hybrids feature a wide variety of trait technologies including Herculex I Insect Protection with LibertyLink and Roundup Ready®. 88-day to 100-day Relative Maturity TMF2M256 features Herculex I Insect Protection for broad-spectrum protection from insect pests. It is a tall plant that provides strong roots, even under high plant densities. Excellent tonnage, good digestibility and fast plant drydown makes this a top choice for growers of early maturing silage. TMF2N422 is a Roundup Ready silage hybrid featuring high tonnage and digestibility. It has good late-season staygreen that extends the window for harvest. TMF2T497 is a new 100-day leafy silage hybrid that combines exceptional tonnage and excellent digestibility. It offers very good early vigor, stalk strength, plant health and drought tolerance. 110-day to 116-day Relative Maturity TMF2M741 is the exciting new replacement for TMF114. It contains Herculex I Insect Protection, which gives it broad-spectrum protection from several insect pests. This hybrid is tall and leafy, with medium ear placement. TMF2N802 is a full-season Roundup Ready leafy silage hybrid with excellent tonnage potential. It also features good drought-stress tolerance and very good plant health throughout the chopping season. TMF2T818 is a full-season leafy silage hybrid with excellent tonnage potential. This hybrid is similar in height to TMF113, with a lower ear placement. It has a more consistent ear size, providing improved digestibility. New FullTime™ Forage, Sorghum and Alfalfa Offerings As the newest FullTime Forage hybrid, F2F444 features a moderately tall plant type and a high NDF digestibility rating. The new sorghum hybrid, 1G858, features medium-late maturity and a medium/tall relative plant height. The new alfalfa variety, 4R429, features excellent forage yield potential, in addition to excellent winterhardiness and stand persistence. "We've significantly expanded our forage lineup to help meet the changing needs of today's forage producer," concludes Cannon.
