Dow AgroSciences Inaugurates New Production Facility in France

Indianapolis, IN - April 01, 2005

Dow AgroSciences LLC recently announced the inauguration of a new Dithane* fungicide production unit on an existing industrial site located in Lauterbourg, France. The new plant makes the Lauterbourg facility the largest granulation facility for Dithane* fungicide. Dithane* fungicide products have the broadest use pattern of any fungicide in the world, and are approved for use against more than 400 diseases protecting 70 crops.

Dow AgroSciences President and CEO Jerome Peribere attended the inaugural event, and met with employees as well as representatives of regional authorities. "This new production facility represents Dow AgroSciences' commitment to its customers, and to innovation and technology, the means by which we deliver high quality products," said Peribere.

Peribere also characterized the inaugural event and the new facility as an example of Dow AgroSciences' commitment to the principles of Sustainable Development. "Our dialogue with employees and regional authorities demonstrates the care we take in the communities where we live and work," said Peribere. "Additionally, the plant technology reduced both energy and water consumption, making this new facility better for the environment."

Bernard Deloffre, site and production manager for Dow AgroSciences Lauterbourg, called the new facility "a significant long term investment in terms of productivity and quality, and safety for people, facilities and the environment."
