Herbicide-Tolerant Weed Control Programs
When producers switch paths from growing conventional hybrids to planting Roundup Ready® or LibertyLink corn, they hope they can maintain high yields while reducing herbicide costs. But eliminating a soil-applied product like Keystone®, Keystone LA, Surpass®, FulTime® or TopNotch® herbicide is a high-risk approach that can turn economically disastrous if weather or equipment availability delays cause them to miss the optimum timing for weed control.
When emerging corn competes with weeds, the potential for yield loss increases, but this risk can be reduced when an acetochlor herbicide is used as a foundation to control grasses and broadleaf weeds. Follow with one post application of glyphosate in Roundup Ready corn or Liberty herbicide in LibertyLink corn to clean up any late-emerging weeds. Below are recommended herbicide-tolerant weed control programs.
