Indianapolis – Sept. 24, 2002 - Growers can save money this season by taking advantage of Mycogen Seeds’ cash discounts and special financing options. Mycogen Seeds’ programs provide discounts on the purchase of Mycogen seed or Mycogen seed and Dow AgroSciences crop protection products.
“These new discounts and financing programs are designed to maximize purchase options for growers for the next season,” says Mycogen Seeds Credit Manager Cal Byl.
Cash Discounts
“With the cash discount program we currently have available, the earlier growers pay, the more they’ll save,” says Byl. For example, growers paying by Nov. 20 receive a 9 percent cash discount, while those paying by January 20 receive a 6 percent discount. Financing Options
In addition to the cash discount program, Mycogen Seeds offers several financing options through Farm Plan® designed to fit growers’ diverse needs. Choose from two seed financing options, or select seed and chemical financing. Financing Mycogen brand seed makes growers eligible to finance qualifying Dow AgroSciences chemicals used in conjunction with the Mycogen seed purchased.
Mycogen Seeds and Dow AgroSciences are jointly offering growers seasonal terms of prime minus 2 percent APR on seed and chemical purchases through March 20, 2003. A minimum initial seed purchase of $5,000 is required or $5,000 of seed plus $2,500 of chemicals. For prime minus 2 percent APR, interest starts from the date of purchase. However, full payment is not due until November 15, 2003.
An early financing discount on seed purchases is also available through Farm Plan. Growers can receive a 3 percent early financing discount if they order by December 20, 2002
and a 2 percent discount if ordered by January 20, 2003.
One final option available through Farm Plan is No Payments/No Interest on seed purchases for 120 days. “With the No Payments/No Interest option, growers can buy seed today with no payments due and no interest charged for 120 days,” says Byl. A minimum $2,500 initial seed purchase is required. Growers who use the No Payments/No Interest transactions are not eligible for early pay or early financing discounts. The No Payments/No Interest option is available to growers through May 20, 2003.
