Management Guidelines
A strong fertility program is essential to maximize forage yield and protect forage quality.
Solid plant agronomics will support moderate to moderate-high plant densities and narrow row widths. Avoid very aggressive plant densities.
For optimal performance, maintain on heavier soils with good water-supplying capacity and fertility practices. Avoid very sandy soils without irrigation capabilities.
Works well in continuous corn or corn/soybean rotation.
Monitor harvest moisture closely as harvest approaches. Hybrids may be drier or wetter than physical appearance indicates.
When storing BMR hybrids in a pile or a bunker, recommended moisture levels for harvesting range from 66 percent to 70 percent; for bags, 66 percent to 68 percent.
