Mycogen Seeds Offers 12 New Corn Hybrids for 1999

Eagan, Minn., Jan. 25, 1999 . . . Mycogen Seeds is giving growers more solutions to the multiple challenges they will face in their fields this spring with the introduction of 12 new corn hybrids for 1999.

The new releases (see table) include eight NatureGard® Bt hybrids with European corn borer (ECB) resistance.

"Since there are so many variables from one acre to the next, there isn't any one corn hybrid that offers the perfect solution," says Cliff Watrin, technical information manager for Mycogen Seeds. "That's why it's so important Mycogen continues to develop and offer growers a wide selection of varieties that meets their needs.

"These new products perform. Field-trial results from all over the northern United States prove our hybrids yield well under a wide range of soil, water, weather, pest and management conditions."

Along with these new corn hybrids, Mycogen also is introducing new Totally Managed Feedstuffs® (TMF) Silage-Specific™ corn hybrids, TMF alfalfa varieties, soybean varieties and sunflower hybrids.
