Research Scientist

Position Reports to: Research Entomologist
Experience Required: Ability to conduct independent research. Knowledge of plant breeding techniques and familiarity with crop culture techniques for various species.  Good organizational skills and ability to participate in a multifunctional team is essential.  Creativity in problem solving is a very important component of the job along with the ability to cooperate and clearly communicate with scientists within and outside the company.

Education Required:

Ph.D. or MS with five years plus experience in Plant Breeding, Genetics or a related field.

Description of Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for the management and implementation of various Mycogen continuous nursery trait conversion programs in corn, cotton and soybeans.  Provide technical leadership with regard to breeding, set-up, nursery management and personnel management.   Manage crop growth and culture of the continuous trait conversion nurseries.   Make detailed observations, communicate data, and propose future actions.   Regularly conduct tests and experiments to identify new techniques to use in improving conversion time lines, seed yields and overall crop growth and appearance.
